Artist Statement
I work mainly from my Soul. Around age 28 when I was going through a personally difficult time I began tapping into an inner reservoir of emotion. I later on discovered these were past life connections needing to be released. Several years later I began my study of Evolutionary Astrology which is basically a map of the soul through time, and has helped me understand more clearly this process. I continue to work this way with the art work intuitively guiding me towards insights about myself. In many ways the works are like dreams with psychological symbolism. Also nature and it's primordial connections inspire me as well as the German Expressionists, Matisse, primitive and aboriginal art, Jean Michel Basquiat, Shara Hughes, Japanese art including Yayoi Kusama, Paul Klee and children's art. I love color and pattern and find the entire creative process an intensely spiritual one.
